Warhawk Command Center Coming to PS Home Today

From the Official Playstation Blog:

"A couple days ago I visited with Incognito studio director Dylan Jobe (you know him well) about the Warhawk space that launches today in PlayStation Home. Dylan was nice enough to walk us through the Warhawk Command Center, and specifically through the Sand Table where you can lay out strategies for all Warhawk maps. It’s all really slick, and Dylan goes into some great detail about how it all works."

"Also, starting today you can purchase Warhawk for $19.99 on the PlayStation Store (that’s $10 off!) for two weeks, ending on March 11. Individual Warhawk Booster packs are dropping down to $4.99, and the Booster Combo (all three individual Booster packs) drops to $9.99. But remember, the special Warhawk pricing ends on March 11, so be quick about it!"

PS3 Firmware Update v2.60 Released

Playstation 3 Firmware 2.60 has been released. Here's what's new:

"The PS3 firmware update (v2.60) is designed primarily to enhance the system’s media capabilities. The key feature is a new Photo Gallery application, which delivers a suite of tools for sorting through and displaying your digital photo collection. Digital pictures can be organized in groups according to various criteria, including the camera used to take the photos, the event date and time, colors in the photos, as well as the number, ages, or facial expressions of the people pictured. You can also create slideshows set to music and build photo playlists with an easy-to-use interface. The Photo Gallery application will need to be installed separately from the XMB after you update your PS3’s firmware. To install the Photo Gallery application, go to the Photo section on the XMB, select Photo Gallery and press the X button."

The 2.60 update also includes:

  • Guest access to PlayStation Store – This enables non-PlayStation Network members to browse through the storefront to check out the latest games, demos, videos, etc.
  • DivX 3.11 support – Videos in this format can now be played on PS3.

Fandian r303 (Formerly Sonic) DS Homebrew Released

A new version of Ritz's Fandian (Formerly Sonic) has been released. I currently don't have a video since I can't get it to run on my DS. I'll post one if I can get it to run. Meanwhile, here is Ritz's description and a few screenshots:

"Fandian is a hobby of mine that attempts to be a homebrew 3D RPG project for the Nintendo DS. Some notable features include skeletal animation, static & dynamic point lights, shadow volumes, skyboxes, collision detection with gravity, stylus picking, and multiple linked maps support for large worlds."

"In the hopeful future I will build the game logic, A.I. and scripting. I'll also attempt an interactive 3D map builder on the DS for easy world creation, real-time light adjustment and object & creature placement."

"The latest release news:

Does anyone have a DSi (and a compatible flashcart like Acekard 2i or EZ-Flash Vi) yet? If so, I was hoping they would be willing to give my rom a quick test run to find out if it's gonna work. I'm most curious about the stats on my debug screen (the top screen) and a camera snapshot of it would be awesome and appreciated (if it even works at all). "

"the Fandian one was built using devkitARM 24 with the updated libfat, arm7, etc."

Fandian can be downloaded from here.
